Yabba Griffiths & Traxx
(Original Studio One Artist from Jamaica/Chicago)

A multi-talented musician whose repertoire includes vocalist, song writer, performer, arranger, band leader, guitarist and producer, Marcus Yabba Griffiths was born in Manchester Parish, Jamaica. Early in his career he recorded for Duke Reid's Treasure Isle Label, Sonia Pottinger's Hi-Note Label and  Clement "Coxsone" Dodd of Studio One. 

As a studio musician, Griffiths worked with the great musicians and singers of Jamaica - Bunny Wailer, Gregory Isaacs, Carlton and Family Man Barrett, Jackie Mittoo, Robbie Shakespeare,Sly Dunbar and many others. His big hit, "Devil Woman," featuring The Tamlins captured "hit song" status in metropolitan New York and Chicago.  

Griffiths' long list of awards and honors include several Chicago Reggae Music Arts Awards and International Reggae Music Arts Awards

 

A proven favorite on the festival circuit, SEEFARI is one of reggae's most dynamic live reggae performers, with a show like no other artist. SEEFARI has toured extensively throughout the USA, including four years as a headlining performer on the Bob Marley Festival Tour. His world class reggae band features some of the best musicians on the US reggae scene.

Cincinnati-based Lucky Spaulding enjoys making music. His passion envelops Reggae, Soul, Rock and World Beat, and the handful of local awards he has collected over the years are a testament to his energy and originality. Since 1992, Lucky has had the pleasure of performing/recording with/for such names as Adrian Belew, Justin Jeffrie, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson, Gary Winters, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, Burning Spear, Culture, and (most recently) Bootsy Collins.

 

Rob Dread is one of the midwest’s most talented and versatile reggae musicians. He works as vocalist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer and guitarist with several bands including SEEFARI, Dem Reggae Bon and Dougie Simpson. His work with his own band KMA is outstanding. Rob’s many appearances at the Dayton Reggae Festival have always been well-received. His Reggae-delic dubwise style will make you want to dance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Mista Dread

After a long career in the music industry which included several years as guitarist /vocalist with Toledo-based reggae band Groovemaster. Mista Dread's new mission is to spread JAH message as far as possible in this time. Mista Dread feels it is time to showcase his own conscious act independently.

Mista Dread is putting the finishing touches on a short movie entitled ".BAD LIKE WE," and also finishing a soundtrack for the film. Including tracks by Mista Dread, Eeka, Supa G, and several more artists.

The Nyabinghi Culture Collective is a group of musicians from Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus who are uniting to advance and celebrate Rastafarian Music and Culture with an emphasis on traditional nyabinghi drumming and conscious reggae music. The N.C.C will provide an authentic and cultural opening for The Dayton Reggae Festival!
